April

Finished a year long honor thesis and had a Moroccan birthday with friends

June/July

Moved into a refugee camp in Palestine. Climbed the Bahai hill in Haifa, put my feet in the Galilee, barbecued in the Judean wilderness, floated in the Dead Sea, Looked out from the Mount of Beatitudes, swam in the Mediterranean and the sea which Jesus walked upon, walked stations of the cross, was tear gassed by the Israeli army.

August

Had picnics in the park, celebrated Paul's graduation from college, visited family in Nashville and Indiana, swam in the Oregon mountain lakes.

September

Ate paella and tapas in Barcelona, saw the Gaudi buildings, and moved to Paris.

October

Went to Berlin where we saw the Ishtar gate of Babylon, the Berlin wall, and drank tea in a Tajiskistani communist tea house. Had the best breakfast of our lives and ate a lot of currywurst.

Saw the truffle-esque pastel buildings of Potsdam and walked the castle grounds amidst the Dutch quarter and Russian cabins.

Went to Prague where we saw the old astronomical clock, climbed the castle steps, crossed the freezing St. Charles bridge, and ate goulash in a 15th century brewery.

We went to Munich where we climbed the Alps to visit Bavarian castles, saw beautiful, ornate churches, visited the Hofbrauhaus, walked in picturesque autumn parks, and visited many a biergarten.

November

Keegan came to visit! We drank tea in Moroccan tea houses, discovered a new park, ate mussels and oysters for the first time, visited the Christmas market on the Champs-Elysees and celebrated Thanksgiving in Paris.

December

Enjoyed the Christmas lights in Paris as well as a surprising snow storm!

Went to the Netherlands where we visited snowy Utrecht, the canals of Amsterdam, the inspiring Van Gogh museum, the International Criminal Courts of the Hague, looked across the North Sea, and celebrated New Years under fireworks on a roman bridge in the medieval city of Maastricht.

We also ate lots of Gouda.

New Year

For New Years Day, we visited beautiful Brussels where we admired the Grand Place, ate waffles, and prepared for our return to Paris.

It's been a good year. Happy New Year Everyone!
